Hope and the Hero

Ryan and Isaiah's funky screamo band Hope and the Hero played again at the Cobalt Cafe today. I got there a little late, so I couldn't buy tickets from Isaiah, so I payed at the door instead. When I got in there, they were about halfway done with their show, but it was nonetheless interesting.

I wish to exemplify a point regarding my attendance of these screamo concerts. I don't like screamo, and frankly, knowing how indie Ryan Montez is, I'm surprised he's really that into it. However, I attend these concerts because I find the experience very VERY interesting. It occurs to me that this is what most of my friends do in their free time, and I don't get out very much, so, you know, it was a good feeling being exposed to what my contemporaries are interested in. I fear though I may begin to like the music, despite the fact that I'm suffering hearing problems. hahaha

I doubt I'll be able to go to the next one though. My parents are scared of the Cobalt. and they have good reason to be too haha. It's this trashy old cafe that's been painted black and covered in the markings of Hell, and it's always full of teenagers with skinny jeans and piercings, black makeup and striking hair, bad manners, with less morals than there are talking shovels. You know, the ones with divorced parents.

Okay sorry, that was mean. but do you know what stereotype I'm talking about? The Cobalt Cafe is where they congregate. It's the "hardcore hangout" as Ryan puts it. Hardcore indeed.

Okay, well I'm going to go listen to silence for a while in order to make up for my present deafness. The show was really awesome! Thanks Ryan and Isaiah. Although I can't say much about the music, I enjoyed the experience and Ryan's screaming hahaha.

Ryan screaming is an awesome sight, seriously. More awesome than a bear holding a shark.
